The Society is organized & operated for the exclusive purpose of advancing the arts & sciences of heating, refrigeration, air conditioning & ventilation, the allied arts & sciences & related human factors for the benefit of the general public, as defined in the Certificate of Consolidation, To fulfill its role, the Society shall recognize the effect of its technology on the environment & natural resources to protect the welfare of posterity.
